If you ever ask anyone who has been to Tulum, Mexico they will describe it as “magic.” Until Adam + Emma’s party filled, disco-jungle themed wedding last Fall, I didn’t quite get it until I got to experience this place firsthand. There is something undefinably special and indeed magical about this laid-back, bohemian spot set right on the beach and in the heart of the Mexican jungle. Adam + Emma got married at the idyllic bohemian hotel on the famous Quintana Row called Sanara. Adam’s close friend, mentor (and iconic Victoria Secret Photographer!!) Russell James officiated their beachside ceremony as swaying palm trees gently blew in the breeze and seaweed floated ashore. Along with their closest friends and family, they laughed and cried tears of joy as they said their I-Do’s. The party moved down the road to the sexy and exclusive restaurant Gitano where everyone (including myself!) feasted on probably one of the best meals I have ever eaten. After dinner, the disco ball twinkled, the mezcal was poured and the vinyl tracks were spun. Adam, Emma and their guests partied late into the night (AT TIMES IN THE POURING RAIN!!) and I’m guessing this was one of those nights that they will be talking about for many years to come.
Shooting this wedding in Tulum was an absolute dream and although I am usually ready to head home towards the end of a trip when traveling, this place made me wish I could have stayed a bit longer. There is something magical here and I am DYING to get back!
